Putting the 'Tea' In Charity: Whip Up a Tea Cosy

As the popularity of our cupcake decorating classes shows, tea parties are huge right now. And as if you needed another reason to crack open a pot of edible glitter, the good folk at Marie Curie Cancer Care are calling on tea lovers up and down the land to host their own 'Blooming Great Tea Party' this Summer.

If dragée and non-pareils haven't yet made it into your daily vernacular, don't worry - there are other ways to get into the kitsch spirit. Whatever your level of baking or crafting skill, help raise funds of cancer research and enter the 'Knit a Tea Cosy' competition, in association with Simply Knitting and The Knitter's Magazine!

Simply knit or crochet a tea cosy on the theme of the 'Blooming Great Tea Party', and send it in by the end of August for a chance to win a tonne of knitting goodies (as well as some nifty gear from Queen of Kitsch Cath Kidston, who'll be helping judge).
